HELMI FILMS IS A FINNISH PRODUCTION COMPANY BASED IN HELSINKI, FINLAND. ESTABLISHED IN 2007 THE COMPANY PRODUCES MAINLY FICTION, CREATIVE DOCUMENTARY FILMS, MUSIC AND SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS.

Helmi Films documentary works are supported by various Finnish and International Film and Cultural Foundations, such as the Finnish Film Foundation, National Broadcaster of Finland YLE TV, AVEK, Berlinare DOC Station Talent Campus, Swedish Cultural Foundation, Rotterdam Lab, Durban FilmMart and etc. Our team of creative producers and talented directors are working in different film and cultural projects in co-operation with partners from Norway, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Estonia,  OAE, Georgia, Austria and United States. CEO of Helmi Films Ltd. Tahir Aliyev is Chairman of European Centre for Art and Culture (ECAC).

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Helmi Films Ltd. is an independent television and film production company founded in 2007 by Tahir Aliyev and Maria Friman. During last 7 years Helmi Films has produced more than 20 films, mostly creative documentaries, from which a major part was broadcasted by Finnish National TV (YLE TV). Major TV and Film Productions: “Woman on Hold“, Unplugged, The Roots, “Family Angel“, “Memories from Baku“.    Helmi Films is rapidly developing into rental house for newest cinema technologies. Company has strategical partners in several European countries, Azerbaijan and Middle East.

PRINCIPALS

Executive producer of Helmi Films Ltd. is Tahir Aliyev. He is producer of various TV projects and creative documentary films, professional journalist, creator of new TV ideas and formats. During past years Tahir Aliyev were actively involved in producing Eurovision Song Contest in Baku.

Producer and director of Helmi Films is Maria Friman. She is well know journalist and activist in Finland. Maria were directing media campaigns by Helmi Films during last years, such as “Meijän Puolue” and “Asenne Meininki”, which were supported by European Union’s Social Fund and had a great success in Finland.
